Prayatna runs Balwadis (English Nursery) at Mottapada and Jai Janta Nagar slums in Malad. We recognize the importance of English education and are dedicated to providing children in the slums with access to English medium education. Our curriculum at Prayatna Nursery school is carefully designed to foster the growth and development of each child.
We focus on introducing children to poems, alphabets, and numbers to prepare them for future formal education. Our dedicated staff members are specially trained to create a warm and supportive learning environment that is child-centred. We encourage active exploration, hands-on activities, and play-based learning, as these methods have proven effective in promoting cognitive and social development in early childhood.
One such program is the nutrition program. Many of the children associated with Prayatna’s education program are malnourished, and it is acknowledged that children cannot study on an empty stomach. Therefore, nutritious snacks are provided daily to the children, not only to address their nutritional needs but also to motivate them towards learning.
In addition to academics, Prayatna also organizes entertainment activities to engage the children and create a joyful environment. Various events are celebrated throughout the year, such as Traditional Day. On this day, children come dressed in traditional outfits, and there are traditional dance and song performances by the students.
Prayatna conducts after-school study classes at St. Anne’s to help weak students cope with their studies. In addition, Prayatna also focuses on other programs to support the overall development and well-being of the children.
Another highly anticipated event is the Christmas celebration. This occasion brings fun and happiness, and it is a time for sharing and giving. Children receive gifts, and their faces light up with gratitude and love.
Furthermore, Prayatna organizes an annual picnic that is eagerly awaited by the children. This outing provides them with a day of fun and frolic at a water park, allowing them to enjoy to their heart’s content.
These additional programs and activities offered by Prayatna contribute to the holistic development of the children, ensuring their educational, nutritional, and emotional needs are met.
